The Rings She Left Behind is an upcoming novel from author Donna Baines, coming this fall. A story of reflecting on life and uncovering truths, I was given the opportunity to bring the feeling to the cover.
Project Overview:
I was tasked with designing a captivating book cover that could excite the author and catch a prospective reader's eye in any book or online store.
I used a mix of the Procreate App for the hand-drawn elements and then moved files into Affinity to complete the overall design features for print. I chose Affinity as a fun challenge to see what it was like to experience the now Canva-owned program. As an alternative to the Adobe Suite, I was quite impressed!
After taking in client input, we finally settled on the favorite look and finalized the color palette with an updated font. I was very pleased with how it all turned out.
